Key Takeaways

  • Falkonry Clue is a plug-and-play AI solution for factory data providing timely and understandable alerts for operational issues.
  • Falkonry Clue harnesses scalable AWS IoT services to provide a cost-effective, future-proof architecture for the connected factory.
  • Clue is now available via the AWS Marketplace to streamline the procurement process for predictive operations.

Falkonry Clue is designed to make predictive operations easier to adopt and scale. We have posted about the challenges in that process along with approaches for overcoming them:

In this post, we talk more about our approach to the last two aspects of using Clue to pursue operational excellence.

Getting connected using AWS IoT

AWS IoT provides a number of services for robust and secure connectivity as well as for managing and processing IoT data. Falkonry exploits these services to create a scalable and reliable system that includes connectivity, processing, storage, container orchestration and database. For example, Clue uses AWS IoT Core in order to make secure connections to your operational data from the plant floor directly to the cloud. Falkonry can also provide connectivity at the edge by leveraging AWS IoT Greengrass, a powerful set of capabilities which implement key AWS services behind the plant’s network firewall.

We describe connecting your plant to Falkonry Clue in the article Getting Ready for Clue: Connecting Data Sources. Leveraging IoT standards, your team can now effortlessly connect your plant to Clue. The Falkonry team will work with you to identify and connect the operational data from the systems and processes to be enhanced with operational AI.

Scaling up with AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) and AWS Lambda

Once Falkonry Clue is producing alerts and your operations team is using them to prioritize action, you can scale up across more production lines without further architectural development work. This is because Clue works transparently to accommodate more data sources, higher data volumes and larger AI workloads. This enables you to exploit operational AI at the scale needed to produce significant ROI.

Clue allows operational experts to scale adoption on their own while automatically managing the resources to cover additional demand. It does this using a combination of S3, AWS’s elastic data storage solution, EKS, AWS’s implementation of Kubernetes-based container orchestration, and Lambda, AWS’s serverless compute technology, to transparently adapt to changing demand.

Falkonry’s state-of-the-art approach future proofs your connected factory architecture. By using AWS services to automatically take advantage of the intermittent demand of compute and storage and only use resources when they are needed, it avoids the cost of a system provisioned to handle peak loads. This creates a competitive advantage by allowing for expansion without the cost of internal IT development, the difficulties of conflicting program priorities or constraints imposed by limited expertise in cutting-edge technologies like Kubernetes. Clue does this so you don’t have to.

Delivery of Clue via AWS Marketplace

AWS provides a Cloud solution which enables the Connected Factory. In addition, AWS makes it easy to order and fulfill connected factory demand. Falkonry Clue is now available in the AWS Marketplace so that you can take advantage of the simplified procurement process that your existing relationship with AWS provides. Starting a Clue subscription is as simple as:

  • Visit the Falkonry Clue marketplace site.
  • Click on “continue to subscribe”
  • Log-in to AWS
  • Select contract duration and options
  • Select “Create contract”
  • Select “setup your account”
  • Provide contact information
  • The Falkonry team will contact you in order to get the operational data sources connected.

Get your predictive operations started and scaled more quickly than ever before with Falkonry Clue on AWS Cloud.
