Nikunj Mehta, Ph.D.

Founder & CEO

Nikunj founded Falkonry in 2012 on the premise that operational excellence comes from real-time understanding of system behavior, which is frequently not available.

Nikunj has direct experience of operations and analytics challenges at the world’s largest and most sophisticated industrial organizations at C3 Energy as its Architect and VP of Customer Success. There he lead the development of large scale advanced analytics for the smart grid, energy efficiency, and resource optimization. Previously, Nikunj developed specialized Web-scale as well as browser embedded databases at Oracle. His engineering depth and pragmatism comes from having engineered and operated multiple enterprise SaaS products for CRM, advertising, and supply chains over the last two decades.

Nikunj has a Ph. D. and M. S. in Computer Science from USC, and a B. E. in Computer Engineering from University of Mumbai. He has contributed to standards at both W3C and IETF. He is a member of the ACM.

Greg Olsen, Ph. D.

SVP Products

Greg is an accomplished technology leader and entrepreneur with special interest in enterprise software platforms. Greg has designed the user experience and artificial intelligence for highly effective self-service condition monitoring and prediction and relishes working with customers who are adopting this artificial intelligence to improve their operations.

He was founder and CTO of Extricity, a leader in application integration technology, which was acquired by Peregrine Systems. He takes products from vision to revenue and has built multiple high-quality teams along the way.

Previously, Greg was an associate at Exponent, a company focused on failure analysis and high complexity engineering. Greg holds a Ph. D. in Mechanical Engineering and an M. S. in Computer Science from Stanford. His other Master’s degree is in Mechanical Engineering from University of California, Santa Barbara.

Crick Waters

SVP Business Development, Customer Success

Crick leads business development for Falkonry and in that role engages both customers and partners. Crick is an expert at connecting Falkonry’s cognitive capabilities to industrial yield improvement objectives due to his experience on both sides.

He has successfully founded or co-founded several companies, one of which, Ribbit, provided a $100M+ exit being acquired by British Telecom. He has created game changing physical and digital products in diverse industries such as telecom, paper, and non-wovens. He is also an InfoWeek Top-Ten Startup award winner.

Crick’s career spans nuclear engineering, industrial engineering, telecommunications, and software. He studied Electrical Engineering from Duke followed by Nuclear Engineering at the Bettis Reactor with associated work in the US Navy. He also has an MBA from Duke University.

Mike McDermott

SVP Sales

Mike heads Falkonry’s sales to bring its advanced condition recognition capabilities to the market. He is particularly good at working with clients on their strategic transformation initiatives.

Mike previously led sales for Primitive Logic in improving enterprise business processes of large industrial and commercial companies. Mike started his career in sales for industrial automation at Production Process. He developed international sales experience in Europe and Asia with semiconductor, automotive and industrial manufacturing companies at BBN Software, now a part of Raytheon. Mike has a degree in electrical engineering from U Mass.

Parveen Jain, Ph. D.

Independent Director

Parveen is a veteran of enterprise software and the power generation industry. Most recently, he was the CEO of RedSeal Networks, a network infrastructure security management company. Previously, he was founder and CEO of JovianDATA Inc. (acquired by MarketShare in 2010). He is currently also on the Board of Directors of Armor Defense and OpsHub.

He has a Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He holds an M.S. in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Cincinnati, a B.S. in Physics from Delhi University, and a B. Tech. in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science.

Mark Gorenberg

Director

Mark has 26 years of venture capital experience and has funded and served on the boards of numerous successful start-ups, including Omniture (IPO; subsequently acquired by Adobe), AdForce (IPO; subsequently acquired by CMGI), NetDynamics (acquired by Sun Microsystems), Scopus Technologies (IPO; subsequently acquired by Siebel) and Crowdfactory (acquired by Marketo). He is currently a Founder and Managing Director of Zetta Venture Partners, the first early stage fund focused only on the intelligent enterprise. Mark is as a director of various private companies including Domo and InsideSales. Prior to his career in venture capital, Mark served as a software executive, entrepreneur, and a member of the first SparcStation team at Sun Microsystems.

Mark is currently a member of the Board of Trustees of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Corporation, and a board member of the MIT Investment Committee (MITIMCo). In 2011, Mark was appointed by President Barack Obama to the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST), a 21-person advisory group of the nation’s leading scientists and engineers (www.whitehouse.gov/ostp/pcast).

He graduated from MIT and received Masters Degrees from the University of Minnesota and Stanford University.
